After the Washington Post published an investigative report revealing that Alabama GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore had sexually assaulted several women when they were teens, including one woman who was only 14-years-old at the time, conservatives were desperate to discredit it.
So, James O’Keefe sent one of his Project Veritas goons to plant a false story in the Post in order to prove that the major newspaper outlet doesn’t do their homework.
His operative failed.
She told the Post that Moore got her pregnant in 1992 when she was 15 and forced her to get an abortion. Post reporters dug deep and discovered the woman worked for Project Veritas and found her Go Fund Me campaign in which she bragged about having “accepted a job to work in the conservative media movement to combat the lies and deceit [sic] of the liberal MSM.”
Post reporters also busted her going into the Project Veritas offices.
O’Keefe declined to comment but soon sent out an email alerting his cohorts that they had been caught and laughably referred to themselves as “investigative reporters.”
“Following months of undercover work within The Washington Post, our investigative journalist within the publication had their cover blown,” he said. “This is how undercover work goes. This isn’t the first time that has happened, and it won’t be the last time.”
Project Veritas was revealed to be a scam, yet conservatives honored O’Keefe with an “Impact Award” at Trump hotel, which was presented to him by Ginni Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
“Proud to receive the Impact award from Ginni Thomas on behalf of the @project_veritas team,” O’Keefe wrote on Instagram.
Proud to receive the Impact award from Ginni Thomas on behalf of the @project_veritas team. Congrats to the other attendees and award winners Sean Hannity, Larry Arnn, Dan Bongino, Tom Fitton, Frank Gaffney, Charlie Kirk, Rick Manning, Star Parker, Chris Plante, Leonard Leo. These guys are all fighters.
That’s right. A conservative group literally gave O’Keefe an award for trying to plant a false story in the Washington Post to discredit real sexual assault victims in an effort to help Roy Moore.
The impropriety here is breathtaking.
Donald Trump and Clarence Thomas should want to distance themselves from O’Keefe, but Trump profited from the event and Thomas’ own wife presented the award. There is nothing journalistic or honorable about what O’Keefe and his organization do. They are nothing more than schemers who try to manufacture fake scandals to drum up conservative outrage. If anything, O’Keefe belongs in jail, not on a stage accepting an award.
