Even though the DOJ Inspector General report issued Thursday proves that the FBI didn’t act with any political bias during their investigation of the Clinton email matter, Rudy Giuliani went on Sean Hannity’s show and spouted off like a deranged and senile old man, declaring that Special Counsel Robert Mueller should be suspended immediately.
Sean Hannity started the conversation with an extended, rambling, fact-free rant:
“Rod Rosenstein, we now know in meetings, has threatened to subpoena emails, intimidate, harassing congressman and their staffs who have been tasked constitutionally with the duty of oversight. You know about these threats he is the guy that signed the last FISA warrant knowing that the bulk of information phony Clinton paid for dossier and he is the guy who recommended firing Comey. Is he conflicted…Intimidating and threatening to use the power of the Justice Department against congressman and their staffs, what do you call that? To me it sounds like obstruction.”
How convenient of Hannity try and project the crimes of President Donald Trump onto others.
Giuliani took Hannity’s cue and responded:
“Yeah. It’s a lot clearer obstruction than firing Comey on his recommendation, which is not obstruction. It’s within the president’s Article II powers. So I believe that Rod Rosenstein and Jeff Sessions have a chance to redeem themselves.
“That chance comes about tomorrow. It doesn’t go beyond tomorrow. Tomorrow, Mueller should be suspended and honest people should be brought in.”
Honest people? No doubt Giuliani would dearly love to see one of Trump’s favorite legal hacks — Joe DiGenova or Victoria Toensing, both of who have about as much integrity as an ambulance chaser — to head the Russia investigation. Then they could blame it all on Obama and Hillary, which would delight the Donald.
It’s been said before but it needs to be repeated: If Trump and his associates didn’t do anything wrong, why are they so damn nervous? Innocent people don’t act this way.
