Brennan Savages Trump

Former CIA director John Brennan is furious at President Donald Trump for his tough stance on those who criticized his declaration of Israel as the capital of Israel. Brennan noted in a tweet that Trump shows “qualities usually found in narcissistic, vengeful autocrats,” according to Mediaite.

As usual, whenever Trump doesn’t get what he wants, he’d been throwing his weight around and suggesting that countries who voted Thursday at the United Nations to condemn the U.S.’s decision to recognize Jerusalem, instead of Tel Aviv, as Israel’s capital, might find themselves bereft of foreign aid, The Hill reports.

And now that the Trump administration has stirred up this hornet’s nest, the backlash from American allies has continued to grow. Germany, the United Kingdom, and Japan are among 128 other countries in the U.N. General Assembly that voted for a resolution that the U.S. should rescind its Jerusalem decision.

But that has prompted Nikki Haley, U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. to warn ominously of the consequences of the vote and to remind member nations that the U.S. has a key role in the international framework.

“We will remember it when we are called upon once again to make the world’s largest contribution to the United Nations,” she said. “And we will remember when so many countries come calling on us, as they so often do, to pay even more and to use our influence for their benefit.”

Remarks like that are just one reason why Brennan, former CIA director under President Barack Obama, isn’t a fan of the current commander-in-chief. He has previously voiced concerns that the Trump 2016 campaign’s with Russian operatives had placed it on a “treasonous path.” Because he’s worried, he’s encouraged Congressional Republicans to denounce Russia’s interference in the election, Raw Story reports. Unfortunately, many have refused, notes The Washington Post.

And this is why I can’t think of a better reason to clean house when we cast our votes in 2018.
