Saturday, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Rep. Joe Kennedy III (D-MA) with his wife and daughter joined in the festivities with Boston’s Gay Pride parade.
Kennedy has long been an ally and activist for the LGBTQA community. This was not his first parade. In 2013 he joined his Stanford roommate Jason Collins in the parade as Collins celebrated being the first NBA player to officially come out.
This year he marched hand in hand with his wife Lauren Anne Birchfield, & daughter Ellie.
Before the parade Kennedy recorded a message of support

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is always a fan favorite at the event. She loves to explain that she does not ‘march” in the event – she “DANCES.”
Yes, she truly does:
I LOVE the Boston Pride Parade. It shows our Commonwealth and our country at its best. pic.twitter.com/0ea0moLb5g

The parade on Saturday wraps up a week long celebration of PRIDE in the city. This year’s event took time to remember the victims of the Orlando Pulse Nightclub shooting – one somber moment in a day of joy and support.
