MSNBC host Joe Scarborough on Friday blamed White House chief strategist Steve Bannon for President Trump’s decision to back out of the Paris climate accord, saying that the move signals that Bannon “is now the president of the United States.”
“Time Magazine was right. Steve Bannon is president of the United States,” Scarborough said on his show “Morning Joe.”
“Donald Trump doesn’t know anything about policy; Donald Trump doesn’t know anything about politics; Donald Trump doesn’t know anything about anything,” he said.
“So Steve Bannon is now the president of the United States and that was more clear yesterday than ever before.”
Bannon is s self-professed enemy of the administrative state and has been the driving force behind President Trump’s “America First” agenda. He works as the president’s Chief Advisor and stays mostly out of the public eye.
