Donald Trump ran a presidential campaign defined in large part by his rampant and unapologetic misogyny. Even before the campaign, his reputation was one of disdain towards women. The billionaire shamelessly belittled, mocked and attacked women. His misogyny was not confined to the Access Hollywood tape that shocked and appalled the nation, it was a near daily occurrence with him. In her new book, Unbelievable: My Front-Row Seat to the Craziest Campaign in American History, Katy Tur details what she saw and experienced first hand.
The Time Trump Kissed Her
In her book, Katy Tur tells the world about a time that shocked, upset, and humiliated her. It was before an MSNBC “Morning Joe” segment. Tur wrote. “Before I know what’s happening, his hands are on my shoulders and his lips are on my cheek. My eyes widen. My body freezes. My heart stops.”
She said her first reaction to the unwanted kiss was “F**k, I hope the cameras didn’t see that. My bosses are never going to take me seriously.”
Trump repeatedly referred to Tur as “Little Katy” on the campaign trail. He used this condescending name from the podium during rallies.
Trump responded to Katy Tur’s revelation with his standard tweet, denouncing the book as “FAKE NEWS.”
