Saturday Night delivered an epic mash-up of The Bachelor and Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation this weekend with shocking results.

Earlier this week, The Bachelor served up a finale that made fans gasp as Arie Luyendyk Jr. changed his mind after proposing to Becca Kufrin, deciding that he wants to be with Lauren Burnham instead.

The sad scene of Luyendyk Jr. breaking the news to a stunned and heartbroken Becca was so captivating that Saturday Night Live decided to have fun with it.

Rather than just parody Arie and Becca, SNL chose to replace him with Kate McKinnon’s Robert Mueller and instead of choosing between two women, Mueller is conflicted over two possible charges to slap against President Donald Trump.

McKinnon’s Mueller told Cecily Strong’s Becca that:

“You know that I’ve been struggling a little bit. The reality is that I don’t think I can give you everything that you want now.

After a moment of uncomfortable silence, Strong’s Becca asked:

“So what, you don’t have Trump on collusion?”

He replied:

“I think I need to explore the possibility that I might have a stronger case with some other stuff. I can’t commit to collusion right now.”

Becca points out that:

“You indicted 13 Russians! Everything that happened in the Seychelles, that means nothing?”

Indeed, Mueller did indict 13 Russians, along with four members of Trump’s campaign team, three of whom signed plea deals.

The Russia investigation is still ongoing as Mueller continues to dig deeper, meaning we’ll have to wait longer for him to reach a conclusion on whether or not Trump committed collusion and obstruction of justice.

But SNL’s Mueller is thinking about obstruction. Mueller said:

“The more time that goes by, the more that I keep thinking about obstruction.”

Becca informed Mueller that she’s been “looking forward” to collusion for the last year.

SNL masterfully copied the split-screen The Bachelor used and hilariously spoofed Becca’s and Arie’s movements during the scene, including when Arie came back after being told to leave.

Strong’s Becca asked:

“So that’s it? He’s just going to be president? Oh my God, I have to wait two more years for him to be out of office?”

And Mueller replied:

“Honestly, probably six.”

Becca then asked if Stormy Daniels means nothing. Mueller responded that “it’s fun, but not what I’m doing.”

Becca continued, asking:

“Do you have any good news for me?”

Concluding the cold open, he replied:

“The Kush is cooked — and also, you’re the next Bachelorette!”
