Georgia State Senator Michael Williams (R) is a little-known politician with virtually no chance of winning the Republican gubernatorial nomination on May 22 in the Peach State, but that isn’t keeping him from touring sanctuary cities in his “deportation bus” and promising to deport undocumented immigrants if elected governor.
In a press release, Williams says the reason for his bus tour is to:
“Expose how dangerous illegal aliens ruin local economies, cost American jobs, increase healthcare costs, and lower education standards.”
Williams’ bus is emblazoned with stickers on the back of the vehicle which state:
“Murderers, rapists, kidnappers, child molestors, and other criminals on board.”
Apparently, the irony is lost on Williams that a man who complains about “lower education standards” would misspell the word molester.
Williams has also released a video on YouTube in which he promises to be “the most outspoken anti-illegal candidate in Georgia’s history.” On that same video, he also proudly declares:
“We’re not just going to track them and watch them roam around our state, we’re going to put them on this bus and send them home.”
What Williams neglects to mention, however, is how he plans to deport anyone when immigration is a federal issue and not one the state’s can suddenly try to take control of.
It probably won’t surprise you to learn that a man is ignorant and bigoted as Michael Williams is a fervent supporter of President Donald Trump. He even served as co-chair of Trump’s 2016 campaign. But unlike Trump, who won the state of Georgia by 5 points over Hillary Clinton, Williams is currently polling at a pathetic 3 percent, meaning he may have to sell his bus just so he can cover his campaign expenses.
