With the exception of a handful of Republican Senators and Congressmen, the GOP has consistently proven its far more interested in power than the fate of democracy. Although they claim they want Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller to continue his Russian investigation unabated, they have discredited the Russian dossier on multiple occasions.
Their hatred for the Russian investigation has gone so far that it’s now being embraced by Russian trolls.
With the government shutdown looming and so much crazy crap going on per usual, some might have been confused by the #ReleasetheMemo hashtag. The memo happens to be a highly confidential four-page document surreptitiously put together by a group of House Republicans, led by Intelligence Committee chair Devin Nunes, over the past month. The group of right-wing Republicans desire to discredit Robert Mueller and essentially kill his investigation into the Trump campaign’s collusion with Russia.
House Republicans claim that the contents of the memo are “worse than Watergate,” which is being amplified by right-wing news outlets such as Fox News and the Daily Caller. But it’s actually Russian bots that are trumpeting the memo release. Trump Jr. took to Twitter to propagandize the memo.
Americans deserve to know the contents of the memo. Democrats & deep state govt officials are doing everything they can to protect those within the government who used their positions of influence to target those they disagree with politically. RELEASE THE MEMO! #ReleaseTheMemo

As a result, “#Releasethememo” is now the top trending hashtag among Russian bots and trolls on Twitter, according to the German Marshall Fund‘s “Hamilton 68″ website, which tracks Russian influence campaigns. Yes, I just wrote that in a sentence. We are indeed living in a simulation.
Democrats, now the party of country and patriotism, believe the memo is the latest attempt by President Trump’s cronies in Congress to dismiss and devalue the investigation concerning Russia’s interference in our electoral process, as well as demean the great many upstanding professionals running it. Moreover, they’re confident that this is yet another unscrupulous instance in which Republicans are blindly doing the bidding of Russian bots.
Rep. Adam Schiff, a high ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, weighed in on the supposed “bombshell” report:
“This is a profoundly misleading set of talking points drafted by Republican staff attacking the FBI and its handling of the investigation, which references “classified materials” that most of the Republican Intelligence Committee members were forced to acknowledge they have never read.
Is there anything these craven cowards will do to maintain their tenuous grip on power?
