This morning the US Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, stepped up to the podium and with a creepy sneer announced that the administration will end the DACA, leaving nearly 1 million Dreamers at risk of deportation.

The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program put in place in 2012 by President Obama provided protection for young immigrants as well as allowing them work authorization. Applicants for the program had to prove that they came to the US prior to 2007 as a minor and approval required a background check to rule out criminal charges. The young immigrants are known as Dreamers (the DREAM Act) and despite Trump’s adamance on cracking down on illegal immigration, he has maintained his support for these individuals. That is, until now.
