Now that he’s made a total mess of the NATO alliance, President Donald Trump is once again attempting to claim credit for his failed summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who apparently sent a letter to Trump.

Thursday afternoon, not long after he arrived in England for a brief visit before he departs for Helsinki to meet with BFF Vladimir Putin, Trump posted this on Twitter:

Despite the “great progress” being made, just this week we learned that when Secretary of State Mike Pompeo traveled to Pyongyang to meet with Kim, the North Korean leader was actually visiting a potato farm. A source later told CNN the trip had gone “as badly as it could have gone.” That same source added:

“The North Koreans were just messing around, not serious about moving forward.

“The White House has essentially tried to shoot for the moon and total disarmament, and it’s clear that North Korea is not only not willing to do that, but sees very little reason to take steps in that direction.”

Twitter soon lit up with ridicule in response to Trump’s posting:

Yes, the “stable genius” just got played again.
