Now that he’s made a total mess of the NATO alliance, President Donald Trump is once again attempting to claim credit for his failed summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who apparently sent a letter to Trump.
Thursday afternoon, not long after he arrived in England for a brief visit before he departs for Helsinki to meet with BFF Vladimir Putin, Trump posted this on Twitter:
A very nice note from Chairman Kim of North Korea. Great progress being made! pic.twitter.com/6NI6AqL0xt
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 12, 2018
Despite the “great progress” being made, just this week we learned that when Secretary of State Mike Pompeo traveled to Pyongyang to meet with Kim, the North Korean leader was actually visiting a potato farm. A source later told CNN the trip had gone “as badly as it could have gone.” That same source added:
“The North Koreans were just messing around, not serious about moving forward.
“The White House has essentially tried to shoot for the moon and total disarmament, and it’s clear that North Korea is not only not willing to do that, but sees very little reason to take steps in that direction.”
Twitter soon lit up with ridicule in response to Trump’s posting:
You’re now tripling down on looking stupid.

You’re just giddy he called you “Your Excellency” five times in a four paragraph letter which doesn’t actually say anything of substance.

“Your excellence”. Kim sure knows how to manipulate you by playing to your vanity. Impressive stuff.

Yeah, the negotiations are going so well the North Koreans aren’t even showing up.
You got played and you are continuing to be played.https://t.co/iv3sFdphan

This is another one of his tweets that I’m having laminated, framed and dipped in gold for my great-grandchildren because they would NEVER believe such a pyscopathic fuckw!t could EVER be installed as POTUS. This is evidence. #ResignTrump

Kind of sad how easily you’re won over by someone calling you “Your Excellency”. You know they’re already cheating on the agreement, right?

Yes, the “stable genius” just got played again.
